Peperino or Piperino is an Italian word describing a magmatic rock, of volcanic origin, a very durable natural material. It is very widespread in the province of Viterbo, in the Cimini Mountains area.

It is made up of fragments of trachyte or tephra, and contains leucite in various percentages. For this reason its classic colour is speckled gray which is flanked by a rarer pink variety.

Its main peculiarities are that it has a great durability, is weather-resistant, as for temperature changes, and keeps its powerful beauty intact.

It is an eco-friendly material which is 100% recyclable and is greatly loved for its technical characteristics of hardness, compactness and frost resistant properties.

The Peperino stone is good for floors and walls and is also widely used for washbasins, fountains and sculptures. Furthermore, it can be used in any climatic and environmental condition, given that it is not affected in the slightest by the action of external agents such as frost, acid rain, smog and salt.

Its most appreciated finishes are the polished and brushed finish.
