Skótos

If the creative gesture shapes the material with a unique vision, it is because the designer’s mind explores seemingly impossible dialogues.

Thus Skótos was born, a centrepiece crafted from handmade terracotta and finished with a seamless surface coating. Terracotta, a natural and sustainable material with a centuries-old tradition, is made from clay and water through an almost magical process in a traditional wood-fired kiln, where the pieces are gradually brought to approximately 1,000°C over 24 hours. Here, this ancient material is given a new lease of life.

With its sculptural form, the centrepiece seems to embody the centuries-old heritage of handmade terracotta, “protecting” this ancient material with a seamless surface coating.

The visual impact is striking, with the all-black finish bringing character and personality to living spaces, where the bowl stands out not only for its functionality but also for its bold design. Another key advantage is the exceptional durability of the seamless surface, making it ideal for everyday objects. Terracotta, shaped into new and dynamic silhouettes, gives life to unique furnishing pieces that become precious works of art for contemporary interiors. The fusion of different materials, bridging the ancient and the modern, creates unexpected combinations driven by a passion and enthusiasm for experimentation, bringing together craftsmanship, technology and contemporary vision to push beyond the boundaries of the familiar.
