Earth, fire and an ancient story
Born from the earth and trasforma by fire, Bucchero has its roots in Etruscan culture and in an ancient clay-working technique.
Its best-known expression, deep black, is achieved through a distinctive firing process in a reducing atmosphere. This technique gives the material a strong, unmistakable identity, now complemented by new shades and experimental finishes.
Shaped by skilled hands, Bucchero preserves the value of traditional craftsmanship: variations in surface, tone and subtle irregularities make every piece unique.
Today, this ancient material meets contemporary architecture. Flooring, wall coverings, bespoke elements and objects become the ground for new exploration, bringing together heritage, material and design.
The Bucchero used by KREI originates in the Lazio region and is reinterpreted through research, experimentation and new applications.
A material with thousand years of history. A new vision yet to be written.
Black Bucchero
Deep, intense, graphic. A surface that absorbs light and brings depth to any space.
Where to use it
Bucchero moves beyond the surface to become an object, a furnishing element, a unique piece.
The material is shaped through a combination of artisanal expertise and contemporary design, creating accessories, sculptural elements and bespoke solutions developed to custom designs.
Each object retains the distinctive character of artisanal craftsmanship: subtle irregularities, variations in the surface and traces of the making process ensure that no two pieces are alike.
Designers, architects and artists can collaborate with KREI to explore new forms, proportions and applications for Bucchero, from individual elements to the creation of one-of-a-kind pieces.
An ancient material that continues to inspire new forms.
