Wall decorations as works of art: When decorative systems come on stage, special patterns and surfaces with material effects come to life, becoming environments with authentic prestigious artistic elements. There are different wall coverings that use liquid metal, limestone, decorative stucco, resin, and natural materials with a predominantly aesthetic function, enhancing the character of the rooms by virtue of the furnishing style and mood that you want to evoke.

Decorate the interiors: impactful material effects

Covering the walls of the house is not only an alternative to simple painting. It consists of a decoration technique that can make a difference by giving character to a room and changing its aesthetic impact.
The continuous search for materials and technique allows for new combinations of colours and materials, resulting in decorative works that are exclusively custom-made, so as to adapt perfectly to the size of the surface that they occupy.
In a restyling project for domestic and commercial environments, the work of research and selection of decorative materials and elaborate finishes is extremely important, aimed at embellishing the walls, bringing them out of anonymity and highlighting the authentic character of the room.

As part of the renovation project of a prestigious Roman house, in the Imperial Fora area, Krei participated in the restyling as a partner of the architect Mario Mallucci, dealing with custom-made wall decorations: ancient plant fossils set in the wall decorative element, as if shifted in time on the surface, in a mix of natural and artificial.

In the renovation project of a flat in the centre of Rome, partner of Architects Sara and Marco Lucci, delved into the history of the building, enhancing it. For the wall covering, we chose a decorative stucco that we applied manually with horizontal fil posé textures, together with patinas made of metal leaves. Of particular importance was the creation of the bas-reliefs present in the house inspired by the wefts and warps of ancient tapestries with precious accents finished with metallic leaf.

Metal decorations between design and experimentation

The decoration of liquid metal represents a new way of interpreting the metallic materials that allows modern and technologically advanced solutions suitable for design and architecture, imagining new uses for materials with a functional and aesthetic value. Once applied on the surface, it creates a sophisticated effect like pure metal. It can then be finished in various shades and tones, with an artisanal hand, giving the unique handmade effect. Burnished, oxidized, brushed: the experimentation ranges between different finishes, highlighting the extreme motricity of the liquid metal.

On the other hand, silver-plating is an ornamental decoration technique used to embellish objects and surfaces of all sizes and materials using a very thin layer of metal foil, called leaf. Using the silver Leaf, we can finish a surface by perfectly imitating both the shiny appearance of precious metals and the appearance of the patina of time. Like the silver Leaf there are also the Bronze, Gold, Copper, or Platinum effects which can be further decorated by creating numerous different and customized shades and lights. The silver Leaf can be used on walls, on canvas, on wooden or other material panels, on furniture or accessories, both in a traditional and less conventional way. It is possible to cover the entire background, embellish individual details or create particular designs. An important final step is the application of the protective paint which makes the product resistant and washable. The application of the silver leaf is an elegant and refined element for decorating both objects and house walls, which will acquire extreme shine.
