Capital, from the Latin capitĕllum: the terminal element of the column, variously shaped or adorned with stylised motifs, on which the arch or architrave leans. From classical Greece, capitals and columns are conquering interior design today with monolithic furnishing accessories inspired by the classicism of ancient architecture and blended into contemporary living. One example is the “Capitelli” collection, designed by Giulia Balducci, composed of three sculptural elements made of solid marble, an extremely noble and durable material. They bear the names of the Olympian Gods of ancient Greece: Poseidon, Artemis and Apollo, and display special workmanship inspired by the decorative styles of the classical architectural orders, creating an elegant blend of ancient Greek architecture and modern functionality. They can be centrepieces, emptying bowls, holder and fruit bowls; special pieces designed to enrich home environments and spaces dedicated to conviviality.

Marble furnishing accessories

A heart of stone more than ‘malleable’ that of marble, when it is the creative power of the skillful hands of craftsmen and designers that moulds the stone, giving shape to unique and surprising objects, destined to furnish the home and beyond, with elegance. Poseidon, Artemis and Apollo show the ‘sign’ of the hand gesture, in a poetic vision of artistic craftsmanship capable of evoking the eternal beauty of ancient Greece.

The natural stone object is revealed as a work of art, to be displayed and exhibited, as well as functional. Manual creativity at the service of natural materials crosses over into art, bringing marble to life in an alternative way. Objects are born, that break into everyday environments as protagonists, bringing a modern style that combines minimal aesthetics with practicality.

Design furniture complements

Poseidon is inspired by the Doric architectural order, reflecting its solidity and simplicity thanks to its solemn and regular form. The capital has a rectangular base with pure, geometric lines, on a base that recalls the elegance of Doric plinths.

Artemide echoes Ionic architecture, characterized by a design that embodies harmonious grace. The curved lines give a sense of softness and elegance to the capital with its circular base, resting on the vertically fluted column, enhancing this decorative, functional and refined element.

Apollo is a tribute to the Corinthian order: it sheds the exuberant aesthetics of Corinthian capitals, embracing soft, flowing lines. Its trapezoid shape, confident and elegant, is also supported by a column reminiscent of ancient classical grace.

Marble design objects

The Capitelli collection, the result of craftsmanship, is fully customizable in marble and travertine textures.

Bianco Carrara, iridescent with delicate black and grey veins, is one of the materials most loved by artists and architects, who have used it since its discovery to create some of the world’s most famous works and monuments. It lends a precious and refined touch to the environment.

Rosa del Portogallo has always been a valuable material with a delicate pale pink color that classily enriches home and hotel environments, giving them a sophisticated allure

Verde Alpi presents a dark green background color on the surface but in reality boasts multiple light and dark shades with infinite yellowish and white veins. This historic Italian green marble, with its compact and uniform structure, is hardwearing and lustrous with a high decorative capacity.

Nero Marquinia with its intense black, on the other hand, lends an original and modern touch to the décor; as does Rosso Levanto characterized by a striking predominantly reddish pigmentation.

Travertine for unique objects

Choosing a piece of furniture made of Travertino Romano means giving personality and originality to any environment, even in association with other types of marble and stone. In shades of brown with background veining, Travertino Noce offers a refined aesthetic, even more so when enhanced by materials in lighter colours creating plays of light and colour. The beauty of Travertino Silver in a mix of shades ranging from black to grey and beige is elusive.
