Navicella Sospesa, Rome

#travertino
Navicella Sospesa

In collaboration with the Spazi Multipli Architecture studio, a project a few steps from the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in the Eur district of Rome, for the construction of the floors and walls of a contemporary structure made of travertine, a historical material that is rendered design as in the finishes more contemporary than ever.

A “suspended space shuttle” (Navicella Sospesa) that completes the original structure of the “Enterprise” company, which operates internationally in the development of software for the financing and banking sector.
A totally “customized” work made in collaboration with the Architecture studio, from the choice, selection and cutting of the Travertine, to all the operations of the technical surveys throughout the structure.

Studio

Spazi Multipli

Spazi Multipli, an architecture and design studio based in Rome’s Testaccio district, was founded in 2000 by associate architects Valentina Pandolfi, Cristina Paris and Antonio Pizzola.

The name refers to the versatility of the three professionals and their network of collaborators and projects the studio into a constantly evolving universe, outside the codified and traditional perimeters of a single discipline, architecture and design.

“Creativity”, for Paris, Pandolfi and Pizzola, “cannot have perimeters, but rather is nourished by the right transversality between disciplines and spheres even far apart, held together by a passion for research and an approach to quality work”.

With this vision, all projects are taken care of, be they architecture, interior design or product design, up to the creative direction of cultural spaces and events, to planning proposals and strategies for the transformation of the city and the territory.

Binding every operation in a coherent framework is the circular attention for people and for the ways and contexts of life, at all scales, for every specificity, which may have its own expression of research, space, form and matter.
